Flinders Port Holdings’ community sponsorship program delivers major sponsorships, as well as providing support for many local sporting clubs, organisations and events in and around our port communities.

Applications for our community sponsorships are invited between 1 February and 30 April each year.

Foodbank SA/NT

Flinders Port Holdings is a proud sponsor of Foodbank SA/NT.

Flinders Port Holdings is proud to partner with Foodbank, Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, providing food and groceries to charities and school breakfast programs in every state and territory.They are a proud member of the Global Foodbanking Network, and dedicated to developing foodbanking around the world.

In 2000, Foodbank SA was launched by the Governor of South Australia, The Honourable Sir Eric James Neal AC. It has Foodbank Food Hubs in Edwardstown, Christies Beach, Berri, Davoren, Murray Bridge, Woodville, Ceduna and Alice Springs, as well as branches in Mount Gambier, Whyalla, Riverland.

CFS Foundation

Flinders Port Holdings is a proud sponsor of CFS Foundation.

Flinders Port Holdings is proud to partner with the CFS Foundation, an amazing organisation that serves communities through dedicated volunteers delivering professional fire and rescue services to outer metropolitan, regional and rural South Australia.

They are an all-hazards agency responding to bushfire, building fire, road crash rescue and hazardous material spills.

They work alongside the SA Metropolitan Fire Service and State Emergency Service, and with local government to help with strategies for fuel reduction and to educate the community about bushfires and fire safety.

They have strong representation throughout South Australia:

  • 13,500 volunteers, including cadets and operational support members, who are committed to supporting their communities
  • 425 brigades
  • 33 HAZMAT brigades
  • 66 Road Crash Rescue brigades
  • 6 regions
  • 51 groups
  • a State Training Centre
  • a fleet of over 800 fire trucks.

Clontarf Foundation

Flinders Port Holdings is a proud sponsor of Clontarf Foundation.

The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and by doing so equips them to participate more meaningfully in society.

The Clontarf Foundation commenced in 2000 with a single academy located at the Clontarf Aboriginal College in Waterford, WA. The programme catered for 25 students and was operated by two staff members, including founder and current CEO Gerard Neesham.

More than 20 years on, the Foundation operates 131 academies in WA, NT, QLD, NSW, VIC and SA, supports more than 10,000 participants and employs over 500 dedicated staff members.

Flinders Port Holdings is proud to celebrate the beginning of this partnership with Clontarf Foundation in 2021.

One and All Tall Ship

Flinders Port Holdings is a proud sponsor of The One and All Tall Ship.

STV One and All was built by W.G. Porter & Son Pty Ltd at North Haven South Australia with the assistance of a team of enthusiastic volunteers and was commissioned on 5 April 1987. Although it is based on the original rig of an l850’s brigantine, One and All is not a replica. It is made of timber and has been built to the modern standards required by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

One and All is owned by the South Australian Government for and on behalf of the people of South Australia.

Flinders Port Holdings has been sponsoring One and All since 2014 and in 2017, the company sponsored three historic voyages to mark this remarkable vessel’s 30th birthday.

South Australian Maritime Museum

Flinders Port Holdings, the ports division of Flinders Port Holdings has a proud partnership with the South Australian Maritime Museum, which spans more than 14 years.

It was back in 2002 that Flinders Port Holdings first provided funding for an exhibition and this enabled the Museum to secure a development grant from the Commonwealth Government.

The much needed finance enabled the Museum to re-invent itself, bringing maritime history to a 21st century audience. Today Flinders Port Holdings supports the Museum in delivering high quality exhibitions that engage audiences, and the extremely successful schools program, which has benefited more than 7000 students since 2008.

In 2017 and 2018, Flinders Port Holdings sponsored the ‘Leviathan’ exhibition that was a close look into the science of whales in their environment and the astonishing history of whales and humans.

Youth Travel Grant Scheme for electorate of Flinders

Flinders Port Holdings funds a travel grant scheme for students in the South Australian electorate of Flinders, to support them in their travel for out-of-school endeavours.

The purpose of the scheme is to help families with the cost of travel, so that their children can participate in sporting and educational activities.

Administered through the office of MP for Flinders, Hon. Sam Telfer, the scheme has been assisting families from the Eyre Peninsula since 2005.
